البعض نحبهم
لكن لا نقترب منهم …….. فهم في البعد أحلى
وهم في البعد أرقى …. وهم في البعد أغلى

والبعض نحبهم
ونسعى كي نقترب منهم
ونتقاسم تفاصيل الحياة معهم
ويؤلمنا الابتعاد عنهم
ويصعب علينا تصور الحياة حين تخلو منهم.

والبعض نحبهم
ونتمنى أن نعيش حكاية جميله معهم
ونفتعل الصدف لكي نلتقي بهم
ونختلق الأسباب كي نراهم
ونعيش في الخيال أكثر من الواقع معهم

والبعض نحبهم
لكن بيننا وبين أنفسنا فقط
فنصمت برغم الم الصمت
فلا نجاهر بحبهم حتى لهم لان العوائق كثيرة
والعواقب مخيفه ومن الأفضل لنا ولهم أن تبقى
الأبواب بيننا وبينهم مغلقه…

والبعض نحبهم
فنملأ الأرض بحبهم ونحدث الدنيا عنهم
ونثرثر بهم في كل الأوقات
ونحتاج إلى وجودهم ……كالماء ..والهواء
ونختنق في غيابهم أو الابتعاد عنهم

والبعض نحبهم
لأننا لا نجد سواهم
وحاجتنا إلى الحب تدفعنا نحوهم
فالأيام تمضي
والعمر ينقضي
والزمن لا يقف
ويرعبنا بأن نبقى بلا رفيق

والبعض نحبهم
لان مثلهم لا يستحق سوى الحب
ولا نملك أمامهم سوى أن نحب
فنتعلم منهم أشياء جميله
ونرمم معهم أشياء كثيرة
ونعيد طلاء الحياة من جديد
ونسعى صادقين كي نمنحهم بعض السعادة

والبعض نحبهم
لكننا لا نجد صدى لهذا الحب في

Alice wants to send her telephone number (555629) to Bob using err-mail. Err-mail works just like e-mail, except
1.About half of all the mail gets lost.[1]
2.Messages longer than 5 characters are illegal.
3.It is very expensive (similar to air-mail).
Instead of asking Bob to acknowledge the messages she sends, Alice devises the following scheme.
She breaks her telephone number up into two parts a=555, b=629, and sends 2 messages – “A=555″ and “B=629″ – to Bob.
She constructs a linear function, f(n) = a + (b − a)(n − 1), in this case f(n) = 555 + 74(n − 1).

She computes the values f(3), f(4), and f(5), and then transmits three redundant messages: “C=703″, “D=777″ and “E=851″.
Bob knows that the form of f(n) is f(n) = a + (b − a)(n − 1), where a and b are the two parts of the telephone number. Now suppose Bob receives “D=777″ and “E=851″.

Bob can reconstruct Alice’s phone number by computing the values of a and b from the values (f(4) and f(5)) he has received. Bob can perform this procedure using any two err-mails, so the erasure code in this example has a rate of 40%.
Note that Alice cannot encode her telephone number in just one err-mail, because it contains six characters, and the maximum length of one err-mail message is five characters. If she sent her phone number in pieces, asking Bob to acknowledge receipt of each piece, at least four messages would have to be sent anyway (two from Alice, and two acknowledgments from Bob). So the erasure code in this example, which requires five messages, is quite economical.

أسعل بشدة من جراء الغبار المتصاعد من كومة الكتب المسجاه أمامي. منذ لحظات قليلة كانت تقبع ساكنة منسية في قاع صندوق من الورق المقوى ظل مغلقا بعد وصولنا إلى السكن الجديد.
كثير من الصناديق بقيت مغلقة… لست أدري لماذا لفت نظري هذا الصندوق بالتحديد ولكنه فعل.في حركة واحدة سريعه أمزق الشريط اللاصق الذي كان يبقي جوفه مغلقا و في حركة أخرى اقلبه رأسا على عقب مفرغا محتوياته الثمينة على الطاوله. عبقريات العقاد، الحرب و السلام، الإخوة الأعداء …    و نزار

أمسك بالديوان ذو الغلاف الرخيص و الطباعة الرديئة، أمسح مصراعه بيدي ..أفتح صفحه عشوائية و أقرأ:

Gawabat 7aragy

Suddenly I had this urge to re-read “Gawabat 7aragy”, I looked for my copy everywhere but wasn’t able to find it, probably in some of the boxes that remained unopened after we moved. I started looking online and I came across them read with the voice of the great Abnoudy himself. For those of you who read them, listen to them the recitation exposes so many different aspects of the text, for those who haven’t prepare to be blown away by the colorful expressions and sheer emotion of these letters addressed from el osta 7ragy el got al 3amel bel sad al 3aly ela al dora al masona we al gawhara al maknona zawgatoh fatna ahmad abdul ghafar.

SNAFU

In the beginning was the plan,
and then the specification;
And the plan was without form,
and the specification was void.

I can’t describe the feeling I’ve had when I looked into one of my old desktop folder in one of my backups dated back a couple of years ago .. It was an ascii art generator based on some gopher based system that i saw and liked .. was probably my first fully reverse engineered system! I didn’t have a clue how could it be done at the beginning. I just kept trying, observing and refining till I got it right! as in 100% match based on the test cases.  A warm feeling with a hint of melancholy.. ah well .. *plays those were the days my friend*
